The 2016 USTA League Annual Player Survey revealed that 83 percent of USTA League players agree with their current NTRP rating. And of those who disagreed, 67 percent thought their rating should be higher.

USTA’s Player Services Manager Heather Hawkes reported that the 2016 Year-End Ratings have proven consistent with years past as far as players changing levels.

“There are some new regulations in place that impact appeal options for players," she said. "Those changes are that any player, except for National Championship players, may appeal their year-end rating as long as they meet appeal criteria. In the past, championship players of any level were not permitted to appeal.

"Additionally, 65 and over players will be published in accordance with the year-end rating resulting from their play in the 2016 year. They will be eligible to appeal that rating based on their play history and previous years’ rating levels.”
