MOBILE, ALA. – It was a championship weekend for the Pacific Northwest section women’s team, which overcame tough battles to be the last team standing at the USTA League Adult 18 & Over 2.5 Nationals, held at the Mobile Tennis Center.
The Pacific Northwest team, from Bellevue, Wash., started the day with a tight semifinal win over the Caribbean section team from San Juan, P.R., 2-1. Bellevue then saved its best tennis for last by clinching the title over the Florida team from Jacksonville, 3-0.
The Bellevue women made it to the final day of competition by winning their round-robin flight contested on Friday and Saturday.
