SAFE SPORT UPDATES

As the National Governing Body for the sport of tennis, the USTA is subject to certain federal requirements with respect to training and policies that relate to the prevention of abuse in sport. The U.S. Center for SafeSport is an independent organization designated by federal law as the entity to offer such training and develop policies and procedures.
The U.S. Center for SafeSport is requiring that individuals 18 years of age and older who have regular contact with minor athletes - including as teammates - complete their training. The training educates on the prevention of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse of athletes.  Click here for a one page summary.
The U.S. Center for SafeSport is also now requiring a new one-time training course that will take approximately 90 minutes to complete. In addition to this new one-time course, all USTA Verified youth tennis providers will also now be required to take a brief review course on an annual basis. Click here for a one page summary.

SAFE PLAY PROCESS

For Junior Team Tennis Volunteers, Coaches,
and Net Generation Providers

The USTA expects individuals to adhere to Safe Play policies and standards, as well as all other USTA policies, procedures, and practices and applicable external laws and regulations. Safe Play consists of completing these mandatory three steps. All Junior Team Tennis Captains/Managers must complete the process from the Net Generation website.
