Historic Washington Park Tennis Center

The Georgia Tennis Foundation’s Atlanta Circle Cup event celebrates its 14th anniversary at the historic Washington Park Tennis Center on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 10am-1pm. The fun day of games offers a unique opportunity for over 100 kids from the Washington Park neighborhood and Metro Atlanta YMCAs to be introduced to tennis by teaching pros and volunteers from GTF, USTA Georgia, AYTEF, USTA Southern and the YMCA. Some collegiate tennis players courtesy of Universal Tennis Academy/David Drew will play in an exhibition that will have kids smiling while enjoying a delicious lunch donated by Publix Super Markets Charities and then wrap up their unique tennis experience with a cool treat from Kona Ice Midtown.

The Atlanta Circle Cup is a great “kick off” event to get kids excited about tennis as a lifetime sport, GTF summer programs that are part of the Joe Dorn First Serve initiative and the benefits of USTA Junior membership. GTF has introduced tennis to over 89,000 participants at summer camps throughout the state. Thanks to the support of individual donors and partners like Publix Super Markets Charities, Arthur Blank Youth Foundation, USTA Georgia, ALTA Foundation, IberiaBank and WSB-TV, the Georgia Tennis Foundation hopes to continue growth and expansion of the Joe Dorn First Serve grass roots tennis programs across the state of Georgia.

The Georgia Tennis Foundation is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to the growth and development of tennis in Georgia by providing tennis programs with emphasis on youth development, community revitalization through tennis, grants to young players and by preserving the historical aspects of tennis at the Sessions Georgia Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum.
