Series #2:  Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Session 1- 3 Recordings

Join us for our next virtual series specifically designed to engage our CTAs in the important conversation regarding the topic of DEI and its relevance to creating and maintaining, a culture of inclusion and a climate of acceptance throughout our various CTAs.

The goal of this series is to impart the information necessary to unpack the terms, terminology and connotations of the phrases that are routinely associated with DEI initiatives in education, public, community based, and private organizations alike all across the country.  This series will also lay the foundation for consideration of internal next step DEI initiatives for your particular CTA and community you serve.

The session dates are July 14, 21 and 28 from Noon-1 PM.

In the 3, one hour lunch sessions, we will cover:
Session 1 (July 14)
Participants will be engaged in an interactive conversation that will define several most relevant terms about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Session 2 (July 21)
We will explore the importance of "Identity" and its role in creating and maintaining an organizational culture that is inclusive and accepting of the diversity that exist amongst our colleagues, coworkers, and community members.

Session 3 (July 28)
In this session, we will consider the question: "What would you do?" Participants will be exposed to a list of potentially effective responses that help ensure that the values of fairness, inclusion, and cultural respect are reflected in our daily interactions.

Our speaker for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Series is Dana Smith, Cultural Proficiency Consultant. Dana's experience spans over two decades addressing issues, interventions, and conversations regarding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. His consulting services include curriculum development, facilitation, key note speeches as well as leadership development, conflict management and team building.

A new grant from USTA GA will also be announced to help you bring DEI training to your CTA Board.

There is no cost to register. The sessions will be recorded in case you cannot make a particular session.

Each CTA must register at least one representative to be eligible for 2021 USTA GA funding and be considered a CTA in good standing. A CTA may register as many representatives as they would like, however a separate registration form must be completed for each person.
