Marita Edrosa Named USTA Southern Manager of Adult Tennis

MOVES FROM USTA GEORGIA TO SECTION OFFICE

Marita Edrosa has been named USTA Southern Manager of Adult Tennis, USTA Southern Executive Director & COO John Callen announced today.

Edrosa has served as USTA Georgia Ranking and Rating Coordinator since 2013. In the Competition Department, she facilitated the sanctioning and coordination of all tournaments (adult & junior), published adult and junior standings/rankings and organized tournament director workshops. In the Adult Department, she administered NTRP promotions and assisted league players with their NTRP ratings.

A native of Guam who grew up in Tacoma, Wash., Edrosa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Washington and a Master of Arts degree in Education from Antioch University Seattle. 

In 1998, Edrosa transitioned to the Dallas-Fort Worth, Tex. area where she started her career in elementary education and moved on to become an English and ESL Studies Professor at Collin College. She then made the move further east to Brunswick, Ga.’ in 2007 where she was one of the starting founders of the Brunswick-Golden Isles Tennis Association (BGITA). As BGITA Local League Coordinator, she brought USTA League tennis to the seaside community. Edrosa and her partner, Warren Robinson, two daughters, Madison and Makensie, moved to Johns Creek, Ga., in 2013.

Callen said, “Marita’s experience and range of roles at USTA Georgia has prepared her to make great contribution to our Adult Department and growth of USTA League participation.”

USTA Southern Director of Adult Tennis & Human Resources Chris Walling added, “We are very pleased to have Marita in the role of Manager of Adult Tennis, where she will manage important facets within the Adult Competition Department including Sectional Championships and NTRP.
