Betty Jones, Executive Director of the award-winnIng MACH Academy, passed on Feb. 12, 2019.
The MACH Academy, of Martinez, GA, won the 2017 USTA NJTL of the Year, along with taking the award from USTA Southern five tmes from 2002 to 2017.

According to the academy's web site, Ms. Jones had a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She had previously worked as Executive Director for the Art Factory, a community arts school that serves inner city and disadvantaged youth. Prior to the Art Factory, she served as Program Director for the Central Savannah River Girl Scout Council. Betty had over thirty years of service to youth and the community. Her duties included: Financial Management (grant preparation and corporate solicitation), ensuring that the program meets the customer’s needs, planned and managed oversight for the program, secured consultants and other support staff, assisted with recruitment efforts for participants, volunteers and funding. In addition, Betty also assisted with planning and implementing program events, identifed and utilized community resources, generated internal and external publications, develoed data base for tracking progress of participants, prepared needed reports, and attended meetings, community events and activities.
